Youth in Motion is a regional program bringing together young people from different community backgrounds within Northern Ireland to create original music with musicians representing different countries.
The aim of the project is to use music to encourage cultural relations through music.
Workshops are held either in professional studio environments or on-site with a mobile studio and are tutored by musicians from various countries who introduce students to world instruments and/or the cultural music styles. Each group within each project location will write, record and produce original music, which can result as a CD recording or internet download.
Programs take place in several locations throughout Northern Ireland and each program is tailored around the availability and resources of the group involved.
